“Lead singer/songwriter Susan Hyatt and her bandmates celebrate a cool, catchy set of tracks in their overdue second album. Susan has a sexy, relaxed voice. The first track is titled “Holiday” and it sets a pattern for the pop vibe and fine musicianship displayed. The album creates that fun factor and the songs are infectious in what to like during the summer, in particular. The album generally should be well suited to commercial support and for lovers of classy pop music.”

“The whole concept of Stimulator is about celebrating life. I wanted the music on this new album to capture the feeling of being on vacation,” Susan dreamily says.
This musical trio consists of singer/songwriter Susan Hyatt (Pillbox), drummer extraordinaire Chad Stewart (Faster Pussycat/Motochrist/Gilby Clarke) and bassist Sean Tichenor (James Angell/King Black Acid).
The band enjoyed success touring with childhood heroes Duran Duran, the Go-Go’s, Missing Persons, Berlin. Songs were licensed to TV shows such as NBC’s “Las Vegas,” MTVs “Real World,” the Disney Film “Ella Enchanted.” Stimulator’s song “Let’s Hook Up’ was the theme song for E Entertainment’s “50 Hottest Hollywood Hook-ups.”
All accomplished musicians, Stimulator recorded their debut album in former guitar player Geoff Tyson’s bedroom. Their first single “78’ Stimulator” was released on the Org Singles Club UK label. Kevin Lyman handpicked the band to play the WARPED Tour after hearing their song “On Top of the World” had won the Best Rock Song in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The band did brave and unpredictable covers such as Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” for Canada and Olivia Newton John’s “Magic” for special Australian releases. Their animated/live action video for “Magic” featured a cameo by singer Cherie Curry from the classic all girl rock group the Runaways. Shortly the band were signed to the LAB/Universal Records; but soon after opening Duran Duran’s 2005’ “Astronaut Tour,” their record label became defunct and the band took a break.
Susan took the time to work on more songwriting as she embarked on an extensive solo tour in Japan. “I became fascinated with the live house scene in Kyoto and my love for classic rock emerged. I started listening to songs from 70’s AM Radio.” It was there where she wrote the songs that came to be - Stimulator 2. “It was time to get real. We dropped the fancy production. I wanted a more organic sound.”
As a well-known former VJ on the UK’s MP3TV, and having run her own European indie record label, Susan naturally embraces the challenges before her. With no money, no record label, she reached out directly to the fans and asked for help to finance the album. The result is an album made purely from the generosity, loyalty and faith of fans. Stimulator recruited Steve Sidelnyk (Madonna/Seal) on percussion, Monte Pittman (Madonna) on guitar and Jeremy Ruzumna on keyboards (Macy Gray) to help complete the new sound.
It’s the sound of Summer, the feeling of freedom on a day where you have nothing to do but philosophize about the world. You can go anywhere and be anything. It’s sprinklers when you need to get wet, it’s the suburbs when the city gets too much. Its sweet sleep and the comfort of being lazy. It’s the cobble-stoned streets of Paris and the charm of ancient Kyoto. It’s PCH driving with the top down with the warm wind blowing your Marcia Brady hair. Most of all - it’s Home - new but familiar.
In the age of technology, where anyone can make music, Stimulator relies on sheer musicality. With style, grace and substance Stimulator makes classic songwriting fashionable in the 21st century. With this new fresh album Stimulator has created their own unique blend of pure sophisticated Rock n’Roll.
So break out the bubbly, blast your new sparkly Stimulator 2 CD, close your eyes and boogie until the sun sets - doesn’t it feel like love?
