THIS STORM is bringing just the right ingredients for the perfect storm..... and no need for umbrellas!.....Let his sound rain on you, experience the New Son of R&B. Storm Deisel, born Bradley S. Bobo, has been causing all kinds of disturbances in the atmosphere.
After his mother had the inclination of calling him her little Storm, due to the severe storm she was in while delivering him at the hospital on January 4th, the name has stuck ever since. Born into a naturally talented family, music fills a void and encompasses who Storm is as a person. His father was a songwriter for BJ Thomas and a bongo aficionado; often carrying his bongo drums with him wherever he went and sitting in on jam sessions.
With several offers to play college football, Storm found himself at a crossroads. After deep contemplation, he passed on football and chose to pursue a career as a singer, songwriter, and entertainer. Unable to keep the music inside him quiet, Storm has traveled, lived and recorded in many states across the country in pursuit of his ultimate dream, from New York to Los Angeles where he spent a total of 10 years. After taking a leap in faith and relocating to LA in 2004, within one year he had landed a recording deal with WhitsettHill/Universal record label where he began working on his first album set for wide-spread release.
Storm was a nominee as well as a performer at the 3rd annual Black Music Awards. He wrote the theme song for a Sarah Jessica Parker film "Spinning Into Butter" in 2005, then in 2007 their relationship eventually came to a halt when WhitsettHill/Universal's music department lost their funding. Still determined not to give up, Storm went out on his own to keep his dream going.
With hard work and grit, Storm set out to produce his album at his own expense. He had the opportunity to work with some of LA’s best and in 2010, released the album The Perfect Storm accompanied by “The New Son of R&B” music video. Storm Deisel proclaims his music as Smokey Robinson meets R. Kelly meets Usher and is influenced by many other R&B greats.
His time in LA served him well, gaining experience in the industry, working with many well-known music professionals, and learning the ins and outs of the business. He’s grateful to even call one of his greatest influences, Smokey Robinson, a personal friend and mentor. Now, working as free agent, with the power of today’s technology, Storm has returned to his hometown of Kansas City. He’s going back to his roots determined to continue building his career, producing his next album, and expanding his world-wide fan base in search for new Stormtroopers each and every day and in every country on the globe.
