Album Notes
With dual guitarists David Grissom and David Holt, The Double Trouble Rhythm section of Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon and the high energy spiritual vocals of Malford Milligan, a Storyville live show was nothing less than legendary. This band racked up numerous Austin Music Awards in the late nineties including Band of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. There two albums, released on Atlantic Records, were both critical and commercial successes. Storyville is now getting ready to release a new live CD/DVD recorded at the legendary Austin music venue Antones.

I heard about storyville about accident. I got the cd Piece of your soul when I ordered another one. But when I listend to that voice and those guitars my world changed at that very moment. I still got goosebums when I hear "What Passes For Love". So this fantastic package of live cd' s and dvd really enjoys me. The sound is overwelming and seeing the guys playing the songs is like being in Austin in Antone' s. I surely wish I could ever visit a concert of Storyville, but this dvd bring the concert at home!!

The best band ever
This is my favorite CD/DVD ever, the band is even better live than in the studio and the two new songs are excellent, I wish they would have recorded a whole studio album also, let's hope this is not the last music this band puts out. Malford’s singing is unbelievable, Chris' drumming and Tommy’s bass rock solid, both David’s on guitar are spectacular. They put all of their best live songs on here.

Storyville Rocks music that moves you, music that you can feel, music that makes you pick up your guitar, music is different for everybody for me its about feel, passion, emotions, Storyville has it. I know they all have their own projects, but I hope they bring Storyville to San Diego.

Storyville Live at Antones
As a long time Double Trouble fan, I was really interested in hearing the first Storyville CD. I had a buddy pick it up for me in the US, as I wasn’t able to find it in my area in Canada. The tunes on the cd weren’t familiar to me, but I figured, hey, if Shannon and Layton are on it, it has to be great. All I could say was WOW, WOW, WOW! Who was this guy singing? Fabulous.

Two years ago, Malford Milligan played at the Great Woods Music Festival in Beausejour, Manitoba. The power went out during his set but he proceeded to sing acapella for the amazed crowd. I couldn't go, bummer, but again had my buddy get me Malford’s cd and he had it signed. Tip - Buy Malford’s solo cd as well.

As I’ve never been able to catch any of these guys live, a Storyville live cd/dvd set – Fabulous! Dave Grissom is inspiring, Dave Holt is also great. And Double Trouble – well, if you need to be told, go to The PINK website. Youch. The DVD is a little low on the production end but hey, this is Texas Blues rock in a bar setting and it doesn’t get any better. Add this to your collection, you won't be disappointed. I also have the David Holt cd which also really really good.
