ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

With a signature phrase of I love it that’s why I do it, man! Along with an I’m so fly type demeanor and a vibe that that makes you feel as if you just brought your first Cadillac. The south has another diamond in the rough, Edrick Price aka Suav was born in Victoria , TX on Sept 12,1977 Raised by his mother and father, Suav was the youngest of 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Like most kids in the south sports and music was the way of escaping from family struggles and government poverty levels. It was the 80's hip hop charge that sparked Suav's interest in hip-hop. With Big Daddy Kane and LL cool J in his personal rotation. The 80s Hip-Hop scene was what started Suav writing rhymes to get the girls to smile, but turned into a way to release his pain when his father passed away at eleven.

The young Suav continued writing and with hip-hop’s uncontrollable influence on the state of Texas, which produced many of Suav's personal favorites. It was Texas Legends like the Geto Boyz, Underground Kings, South Park Coalition, Street Military and DJ Screw (RIP) that provided to be the most influential in Suav's journey. Suav's dreams to be an artist grew and at 15, his first opportunity was upon him. A local show, which provided the biggest lesson in music, "if people don’t feel you, they wont listen to you!" so after years of pursuing dreams and re-inviting himself. Suav broke from the chains of unrealistic opportunities and decided to purse football at Howard Payne University

It was Howard Payne that begun to shape Suav’s image in the music scene. He hooked up with Silverside Holdin and opened up for the Texas Legends UGK and Lil Keke. The group was being heard and the doors started to open. The possibility at stardom was once upon him and his journey started to take shape. Hooking up with Dollar Bill to form The UndaDawgs and preparing to release there debut album. Suav career slowly started to unravel and with the help of shady producers and broken promises; the groups lack of experience in the business showed to be costly.

So Suav headed two hours up 183 to Austin, Texas; where life at that time was more about working rather than rhyming. With a fire and desire still burning and his want to be one of the greatest MCs from the south. Suav hooked up with S.U.C’s DJ Big Baby and started wrecking over mix tapes and networking with local artists like Act, Shorty Mac and KID. It wasn't until 2004; Suav took the first step as a solo artist and after a year of trials and tribulations. Suav released his debut Hate Me from a Distance. Releasing underground hits like Car Freaks and hooking up with UndaDawg member Dolla on get it Jumpin, but it wasn’t until Going Thru it, Suav's visions seemed to emerge.

The release of the album was a big moment especially after 12 years of being in the industry. Opening in his home town (Victoria, Texas) for Webbie, and Charlie Boy; the album just did not meet personal expectations. The personal let down did not stop Suav. He hooked up with S.U.C. members DJ Big Baby, Shorty Mac and KID to form 3 Deep. The group’s success was overwhelming. Their hit single Chunkin up the Deuce had given the group the honor of opening up for the late Big Moe(RIP), ESG, Trae tha Truth, LiL O and Big Pokey. The group’s local success was great but the group never released an album which again left Suav searching for another avenue to explore.

While on his continued journey for success, Suav has grown as an MC and as a man. Suav’s new vision and focus has him looking forwarded too the future along with opportunity to provide the world with some of that Down South hospitality.
