ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sunroom is an acoustic group from the outer boroughs of New York City. They play "folksicana": simple, unpolished, and alive music with introspective and soulful lyrics.

Sunroom - their debut self-titled EP - is a collection of songs recorded live one hot June weekend in an East Village Apartment. With a minimalistic and performance-based production, each Sunroom song is a series of moments captured in time.

Remarkably, their old-fashioned "one-take" approach to recording makes Sunroom's music a refreshing change of pace. The absence of slick studio polish and wizardry only serves to bring an authenticity, immediateness, and intimacy to each tune, making it all the easier to break your heart ("Down Came the 4th Wall"), question your morals ("How You Look At It") and move forward ("Afraid of the Moon").

There is a world outside and Sunroom invites you in.

Basking in the Sun(room)
I have listened to many debut albums and none have been as promising as this one. I am really appreciative of this band taking impotus from old sounds and making them new.

Uber Bravo!
As the world turns each day with the unfortunate overdose of trash, here comes a band that rightfully owns the correct name, Sunroom. More than just a name, but blatant truth to what you're about to hear. This band brings back the true meaning of making music as musicians. True to their roots, it clearly cuts through the tracks as each song takes you to every corner of sonic stimulation with pleasant melodies. It is carefully blended with all the essentials to allow you to forget all the troubles in your life, and remind you that everything is alright.

As a recording engineer, i would consider this recording as a reference standard to all "one take" live performances. Well blended and mixed, wise choices of selected mics for each instrument, It demonstrates all the colors of the sound spectrum evenly. on a scale of 1 - 10, this album is 13.

Terrific debut!
Sunroom's tunes are fresh, original, varied, upbeat...and catchy as hell. A really enjoyable album that is beautifully played, silkily sung and also contains some very clever thoughts and lyrics. Kudos! (...and they're also fantastic in concert!)

Orange Juice
A solid debut bookended by two great songs: "Afraid Of The Moon" and "How You Look At It" are TOP-notch with "Suit And Tie", "She Came Along" and "Get There" not far behind. You guys have a GREAT sound and some beautiful songs...keep writing, keep playing until you hit it big! More people need to hear this stuff! Very enjoyable listen overall. Keep it up.

Boom shock-alocka
Creative arrangements, suprising song structures and inventive vocals stylings Sunroom is a refreshing debut album. With one foot in the past and the other strongly stepping forward, you'll enjoy this calming, relaxing and AWESOME album. If not CDBaby know knows where you live... that is all that I am saying.
