The Sunsets...from Shakin Stevens to the present day, the story continues with a new album release containing Christmas and Festive songs for 2010. This new CD “Christmas Past ‘n’ Present” has many of the iconic 1950s songs we all know and love, alongside three new and original tracks in the Rock ‘n’ Roll style, topped off with new arrangements of traditional classics such as Silent Night and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Guesting with The Sunsets on this album are actress/singer Donna Edwards plus Shakin Stevens' nephew Levi Barratt. Party along with the final track, an up tempo Boogie Woogie arrangement of Auld Lang Syne. It’s Rock ‘n’ Roll and a whole lot more...perfect for Christmas.
Rockin’, rollin’ dancin’ stompin’ music from a band that started with a bunch of kids in 1958, and grew into one of the iconic backing bands of the 60s and 70s, touring extensively with Shakin Stevens throughout the UK and Europe.
The Sunsets now revisit those crazy, shakin’, rockin’, boppin’ days with a line up that delivers an exciting range of 1950s and early 60s music, reflecting the sounds that changed popular music forever, ranging from Elvis, through Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and of course, from the 70s and 80s, Shakin’ Stevens.
All the classics are there, along with fresh material including originals penned by The Sunsets. It’s the full 1950s rock ‘n’ roll experience – rockabilly, jump jive, that great Bill Haley dance beat…big hits and top bops …performed as only The Sunsets can.
With over 30 years of continuous regular performing and recording, The Sunsets deliver a memorable and exciting rock n’ roll experience.
The music does indeed live on...so does the look! With young guitar sensation 22 year old Eddie Cochran fanatic Lewis Clayton joining The Sunsets in 2007, the band is thrilling a whole new generation of Rockabilly fans.
