ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Band Members-- Myself on guitars, synths & various drum machines. Recorded digitally on 8-track. This was my first official release. Not quite as sophisticated as the later ones, but for some reason, some people love to drive in fast (or slow) cars whist listening to it. Also good on the beach with headphones when you are drunk. Some of my pieces are works in progress... .Maybe to be reinterpreted on my next recordings. It took me longer than any of my other CDs to make. In part because my recording equipment was more archaic, and in part because I was learning the whole digital recording process. Some of the track were recorded directly into a Ddigital masterdisc recorder, so I had to be very careful to get the volume/tones right. I had little way of tweaking afterwards. Now, I can just go back to the original 8-tracks and change them independently. Tone, rhythm & melody, using as few notes as possible These are some of the key elements that I strive for. Like soundtracks to movies--sometimes only a couple of notes are needed to evoke a feeling. That's my excuse anyway.....Played guitar for decades, guess I will never be a shredding speed-demon!
Influences-- Many, many unsigned experimental heros. Also---Wishbone Ash, The Shadows, Pink Floyd, Aqua Velvets, Iron Maiden, Hawkwind, Tangerine Dream, Gary Numan, The Surf Kings. The Lost Patrol.
Sounds Like--- Some of the above and sooo much more (or less). An aural extravaganza of bizarre sounds rushing through my brain, the by-product of decades of listening (voluntarily and involuntarily) to a plethora of strange sounds, on this planet and several others.

Roland Bowman

Tone! Mood! Clarity!
Dang, I really like the elements that make up this sound. For one the balance is perfect. Leaving Hawaii in
in A minor, Surfs gone is E major, then Miami Skyline, either in Eb or in E tuned 1\2 step lower. Most likely the later since he gets the low E string sound. The Weather Channel is G minor and The Dead Shall surf is E minor. The contrasting keys and tempos, rhythms, melodys, tones, and use of wah wah, synth, and effects, all combine with a clear balance that makes for good listening. The Dead Shall surf, could be used for a Western picture, and has that suspense that keeps you guessing. I am anxious to hear the rest of these tracks!

Tone Poem
My roomate Roland Bowman, played this cd for me. Well I am 70 years old, and normally don't like too much of todays music. But this cd rates high in my book. It could be a tone poem for a movie. That guitar is so clear and beautiful. TY surfing guitarist. pollylln@yahoo.com

Inspiring Instrumentals
I love to listen to this cd whilst driving. It transports me to another dimension. A 'Sonic Landscape' indeed! No words to get in the way, just pure music.

Crazy Surfer duuude

Gnarly instrumentals
So many guitar and synth sounds all from one dude. Great first CD. His later ones are nore sophisticated, but I still love this. Death to corporate rock! Surf/rock on Maan!

Girly girl

No silly love songs here
Great instrumentals for the beach and beyond. Sound wonderful in so many situations. Like a sound track to a 'B' movie-my life in a nutshell. Sexy looking guy too!
