David Yonan, Violinist, Artistic Director and FAMS Founder:
Born in Berlin, DavidYonan began studying violin at age 6 and was quickly recognized as a child- prodigy. At age 10 he made his recital debut in Berlin, Moscow and St. Petersburg after winning the Berlin Youth Competition.He subsequently debuted with the Berlin Philharmonic at age 12. Yonan is a top prize winner of many International Competitions including:Kloster Schoental, Ruggiero Ricci, Hans Eisler, Vina del Mar, Queen Sophie Charlotte Violin Competition and the 2012 Alexander Buono International String Competition. He received his education at the Berlin Music Academy with additional studies at Northwestern University and Juilliard and the Aspen Music Festival and has taught and performed at major music festival around the world.

Susan Merdinger, Pianist:
Internationally acclaimed pianist, Merdinger is First Prize Winner of the 2012 Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, and a winner of the Artists International Young Musicians Competition and Alumni Award, the Dewar’s Young Artist Award in Music, the 2011 IBLA “Special Liszt Award, and the 2009 Masterplayers International Music Competition. Merdinger made her solo recital debut in Carnegie Hall in 1987, and in has performed in major concert halls around the world. She has appeared on radio and television in the USA and in Europe, and is a Guest Artist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series. She serves on the faculties of New Music School of Chicago, Summit Music Festival in New York and is a Founding Artist Faculty Member of the FAMS Festival.

Cory Tiffin, Clarinet:
Cory Tiffin is the Principal Clarinetist of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and has also been principal for the Green Bay Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and the International Beethoven Festival. He has appeared in concerts and radio broadcasts through the USA and Europe, and is currently on the faculty of the Chicago High School of the Arts and DePaul University, where he received his training.

Christopher Diego Ferrer, Cellist:
Mr. Ferrer was born in Valencia, Venezuela, and began his studies of cello at age 7 in Illinois. He received further training at the Royal College of Music in London and at Northern Ilinois University, studying with John Sharp, Alexander Boyarsky, Cheng-Hou Lee and Ann Hendrickson Griffin. He performs with several ensembles including Camerata Chicago, the Anaphora Ensemble, the International Beethoven Festival and St. John Wheaton Strings and Brass.

Ilya Levinson, Composer-in Residence:
Born in Russia, Levinson graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory where he studied composition and orchestration. He later completed his PhD in Composition at the University of Chicago. His music has been recorded and performed worldwide by prestigious ensembles and orchestras. He is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Columbia College Chicago.
