ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Swim Party is a three piece alternative/indie/rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 2005,the members of Swim Party— Alex Devereaux, Petro Halkowycz and Eric Tremblay—came together as two transplants (Halkowycz from New Jersey and Tremblay from British Columbia, Canada) and one native San Diegan (Devereaux). They quickly found shared musical and geeky interests which propel them to this day. Their first release, an untitled EP (which came to be know as the “Sewing and Blood” EP) from 2006, earned them a nomination for “Best Alternative Album” from the San Diego Music Awards as well as the prestigious “Extra Special Good” rating from San Diego CityBeat’s yearly local music review.

The band’s first full-length record entitled PIXIE DUST ON THE BLOOD RANGE was released on June 30, 2008. PDOTBR was recorded at Black Box Studios with Mario Quintero (Transfer, Goblin Cock, the North Atlantic), mixed and produced by Jacob Feinberg-Pyne (Bright Eyes, Nada Surf, Modest Mouse, M. Ward) and mastered by John Golden (Sonic Youth, Primus, Superchunk).
