ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lluís Gómez on 5-string banjo, Valentí Moya on manouche guitar, Oriol Gonzàlez on mandolin and Maribel Rivero on upright bass, four musicians playing Manouche and Bluegrass music. Original tunes and cover of Django Reindhartd, Bill Monroe, W.A Mozart and Scorpions!!

There is a tendency for people to label musicians under a certain category yet many musicians are not content to stay inside the boundaries of a certain style. On the contrary, music is a passport bringing people together. Bluegrass and gypsy jazz are two genres that for the uninitiated may seem very unrelated. For some they are regarded at opposite ends of the musical spectrum and bringing them together is a challenge. This however was the goal of the album. In order to be able to carry this out successfully it was necessary to have talented musicians who have the ability to combine the two. This is neither a traditional bluegrass nor pure gypsy jazz album. It is a new exciting type of music which has broken through the stereotypes.
