Album Notes
"Mack the Knife" was popularized by Louis Armstrong in the fifties but the story of Mack dates back to medieval murder ballads performed by strolling minstrels. The lyrics (originally written in German for the Three Penny Opera in 1928) chronicle bloody tales of robbery, rape and murder.
SWINGBOOTY performs this song in its upbeat gypsy swing style featuring the flute, violin, and guitar. It's murder-dance music to kick your heels to!
