ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
John Sykes started his career in 1980 with the “New Wave of British Heavy Metal” band, The Tygers of Pan Tang. After two years of albums and tours with the Tygers, John left the band and ended up with the influential classic rock band, Thin Lizzy.

John joined Thin Lizzy in 1982 and performed on the album,” Thunder & Lightning” as well as the “Live Life” album and a live album recorded by the BBC of the band’s last show at the Reading festival in 1983. After this “farewell” tour, John joined Phil Lynott for Phil’s solo tour of Europe in a band dubbed, The Three Musketeers.

John was then invited to join the band Whitesnake and he appeared on the U.S. release of the “Slide It In” album. The band toured constantly in support of the album and ended the tour in front of 500,000 people at “Rock in Rio” in 1985. The show was also broadcast to millions of people on television throughout South America.

Whitesnake’s next album was the self-titled 1987 release, which featured Sykes’ fiery guitar playing as well as his diverse song-writing talents. The album went on to sell approximately 20 million copies world-wide and songs Sykes co-wrote such as “Still of the Night” and “Is This Love” are still staples on rock radio today.

After leaving Whitesnake John returned to England and formed the critically acclaimed band, Blue Murder. The band featured bassists Tony Franklin and drummer Carmine Appice. Their debut album not only showcased John’s fiery and melodic guitar playing but his excellent singing voice as well. The material ranges from epic rock songs like “Valley of the Kings” to more pop-oriented songs like “Jelly Roll”.

For the last several years John has been releasing material under the name Sykes. Also, he and Scott Gorham still tour successfully as Thin Lizzy with John handling the vocals for the late great Phil Lynott.

Gracias.

Oswaldo Franco.

Sykes Rocks
Long time ago in 80´s I heard one of the best heavy metal albums ever - Whitesnake 1987. All guitar work on this album was made by mr. John Sykes. It´s still my favourite WS album. Later I discovered Tygers of Pan Tang, Thin Lizzy and of course Blue Murder. I really like the sound of Sykes guitar. It´s unforgettable fat Gibson sound with wide vibrato, very melodic... I saw Whitesnake 2 Years ago with Doug Aldridge. He played well but I missed that fabulous sound of mr. Sykes. When I heard this live album... now thats how those songs supposed to sound like. Awesome. Even vocal style for Thin Lizzy songs is very samiliar to those from mr. Lynott. After all those years is my favourite album because represent John Sykes at his best. It´s quite a shame he´s so underrated.

WOW!!
Probably my favourite album ever besides Thin Lizzy's "Live and Dangerous". John Sykes is an incredible guitarist and apparently he's a great vocalist too. This Rocks!

Awesome!
If you were wondering if Bad Boy LIVE rocks. Then wonder no more! If you are a fan of Blue Murder, and the John Sykes solo C.D.'s. You cannot miss this amazing Live C.D.! It is a awesome performance! You get a few Whitesnake songs, a couple Thin Lizzy songs. And of course some great solo Sykes songs. I do have a complaint with the C.D. though. I thought they could have had a few more songs on it. I was just bagging for more after the amazing ending of Thunder & Lightning. Other than that I highly recommend it to any one that is a fan of Sykes!
