ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The love of Gongs, wind chimes, marimbas, Hang drums, energetic rhythms, complexity, counterpoint, physical movement, environmental sounds, improvisation, meditative trance-focusing, and the music of Steve Reich has blossomed in the making of this CD. Inspired by the experience of living in the Davis Mountains where the altitude and the quietude combined with sensory inputs that the natural world provides free of charge, engendered in me an expression through the marvelous Kaizen Steel drum. This recording is energetic and magical in production value. Really one composition made up of short Suites. Designed for listening while engaged in a species of movement such as bicycling, dancing, hiking, horse back riding and so forth. Being charged with the energetic forces that all of Nature moves to, the theme of the album carries a kind of mystical tone. Also effective as a quick meditative focus alignment tool wherein one track is selected and full attention given for that 3 or 4 minute duration. Feel free to space out.
