Album Notes
Team Mascot began with Tom Gilhuley (ex- The Smooths, Pawn Rook Four) and David Castellanos (ex-Blast Bandits) . The two first met in Oakland, CA and formed what was the first taste of Team Mascot. It was short lived when Tom moved back to his hometown in New York. Two years later the pair met up in Gainesville, Florida to finish what they started. With Chad Rogers on bass the three-piece started to finally click. In a extremely hot Florida practice space with some cheap mics, a preamp, and a digital 8-track they recorded this first album. It's a lo-fi look into what makes three dudes into bands like Dismemberment Plan, Radiohead, The Pixies, They Might Be Giants, etc. get together and sweat out a new record. Prost.

First thing, I am in love with David Castellanos, and am having his baby. Second, THIS CD IS EFFING SWEET!!!

I was a huge Kid Gloves fan, and have listened to that old 14 song CD until it died and had to make a new one. This CD is even better because it's like the next natural step.

THANK YOU TEAM MASCOT! The world is a better place now.

-Justin (Before-20)

This cd rocks!..I enjoyed every moment of it. From the seccond I sparked my spliff and pressed play to the last note. Sellar performance guys! I'll have to recommend this one. I liked the production as well. Keep up the good work.

Finally, some competent musicians making real music.
Finally, some competent musicians making real music. I’m not talking about some jam loving college drop outs trying to impress the audience with their astounding musicianship. You can keep that noise. I’m talking about musicians who don’t forget about the songs. Real songs sung and played by people with something to say. Talent along side of creativity is a rare commodity these days. Not only are the Team Mascot boys singing about social issues, they’re making me sing along. This is some seriously catchy social critiquing. But it’s not all “woe is the world” stuff. The songs on It’s a Sweater address plenty of topics anyone can relate to. Never a dull moment on this album. Let’s hear more intricate but purposeful guitar work. Let’s hear more creative drumming. Let’s hear more melodic bass lines. Let’s hear more sing along choruses. In short, let’s hear another Team Mascot album soon. Keep the good work, Team.

What can I say but WOW! I don't know where to begin on how good this cd is but I will say that their sound is brillantly refreshing..Totally original and yet I think I hear your influences(Elvis Costello,The Police,The Clash perhaps?) which is awesome! I have not been able to stop listening to "it's a sweater" since I received a copy a little while ago and i'm sure that won't change for me at anytime soon or you if you pick this up!

Great CD - pumps you up emotionally and politically.
This CD rocks! The lyrics are timely and well-written and the drummer is great. Some of the more politically motivated songs are my favorite.
