ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When I first heard the blues I was hooked. I remember Joe Berger and I taking the bus to Flushing to the only record store that sold blues records. That's when I discovered the genius of Ray Charles. My uncle, Sidney Feller was his arranger and conductor and great friend. When I finally met Ray I told him that I'd been stealing his licks. He said "That's okay son, that's what I did too!" I included his "Hallelujah I Love Her So" on the Blue CD. I had the great luck to play with Albert King  years  ago. I covered his classic, "Personal Manager" as well. I finally got the chance to cover some of my all time favorites the "JazzMatiK" way. Also on the Blue CD are some a brand-new originals. Check out the iPhone solo on "Come Back Baby". The JazzMatiK crew laid down the best tracks to date, some featuring blues great Michael Powers, The Blue CD continues the "JazzMatiK" journey with so much more to come.

Hope you dig the groove!

Hallelujah I Love this song!!!! The Blues are Back
Wow!!!!!! Ray would be proud. This guy Teddy Wender and Jazzmatik hit the nail on the head with their rendition of one of my all-time faves. Teddy brings to the table an updated perspective on so many of the classics and interprets them just right. I enjoyed his new tracks also and guess that the next chapter is going to be country by what he teased us with at the end of his quote. Should be interesting.

Great Sound
I think this album does justice to so many songs. It makes me wonder what Mick, Keith and the rest of the Stones think. Pretty sure they'd agree Teddy and Jazzmatik did it right.

Fresh Blues on the Menu
I heard this artist from his original Jazzmatics release and I loved it and thought it was the contemporary and fresh fusion between rock, soul, blues and jazz. When I saw that Teddy Wender released a blues album I knew that it was going to be right on the money and it was. This is a terrific of old and new and the most refreshing collection of blues songs that I've heard in a long time. He has a great way of blending the basic traditional blues sound with a contemporary feel. I recommend this to any music lover of the blues. Buy it, it's worth it and a great addition to any blues collection.
