Both the ear and soul will relate to the comedy and tragedy in this music about love, death, pity and humor. A cool approach to rock and metal music.

Album Notes
My mission in simple. I feel music the music I create should aim for the quality and passion of fine musical art. This CD has some humor and some tragedy, and best of all it is never boring...your imagination will thank you.

Here are some quotes from people who have profoundly inspired me on the creation of this album:

"It takes a lot of discipline to be very proficient on your instrument. You really have to exercise your will power - reach down really deep within and pull out stuff you never knew you had, strength you ever bothered to find before." Steve Vai

"My own thing is in my head. I hear sounds and if I don't get them together, nobody else will."

"Albums are nothing but personal diaries. When you hear someone making music, they are baring a naked part of their soul to you." Jimi Hendrix

"I want to sing my interior landscape with the simple artlessness of a child." Claude Debussy

"Whether you are playing in the bar, the church, the strip joint, or the Himalayas, the first duty of music is to complement and enhance life." Carlos Santana

"Every guitarist has a special quality of sound. The best ones will use a good ear, much sensitivity, and a thorough knowledge of music to prepare the nuances and colors of sound."

"What Heaven hasn't leant to you...Segovia will never, never, never be able to teach to you." Andreas Segovia

I hope you have found these quotes as awe inspiring as I have and most of all I hope you truly enjoy the music from deep within my heart and mind.

Mike and his kick ass warped music...
You have been a very influential force in my music and in my fucked up way of thinking so I don't know if I should thank you or kill you. but either way this is a BAD ASS FANCY SHMANCY HIGH TECH looking web site, and your music is so unique that it will most likely be misunderstood by the simple minded human audience. But as long as us insects understand it who gives a shit what the stupid humans think.

if you enjoy your music like i do on the different side, then this is gonna be right up your alley.

This is a really trippy CD!
I took a chance and bought this CD out of the other Temporary Power stuff after giving it a listen and I am pleased enough to now buy other Temporary Power releases. I think it will appeal to the metal heads and the more alternative folks too. This is the first independently released CD I have liked in a long long time....the production is great and the songs are well thought out.

Great film music!
Well I contacted Mike just to be shure and asked him if I could use "Engineers in the Sun Program the Heart" for a presentation at school, and he said it was cool, no prob. Well I got an "A" which is the best, just like the music on this CD.

This cd changed my little brother's life.
I bought this cd and was playing the song really loud called trying to forget the pain and I swear it cured my brother of a.d.d.- no lie! He really is better now so thanks, ok?

Jerry Garcia and Frank Zappa would be proud---
There isn't hardly any room for this music in a world that is way too cluttered, so all we have to do is clean house just a bit and listen up. Put your seat belts on because this will be a wild ride.

Temporal Distortions is fearless...it rocks!
Guitarist/Songwriter Mike Ward is perhaps best known for his ability to create an electrifying progressive rock experience in an instrumental project. This is indeed a hair-raising experimential CD featuring amazing electric rock that pushes the genre to the max. Recorded in the spring of 2000, Temporal Distortions shines with an ultra-modern high tech sound layering and Mike's boundary smashing range of guitar acrobatics all while merging the love of Temporary Power's inherent nature of instrumental music and effects. Temporal Distortions is a most excellent and solid effort from one of indie music's most progressive and experimental guitarists.

Temporal Mediums... a great indie CD!
Listening to the CD we could tell right away this was interesting material which has some substance to it. This is a different aggregation of quasi-emo, versatile rock music which blurs the line between prog and new age. A bridge between well crafted song writing and on the edge sonics comes into play, thus Temporary Power doesn't easily define itself genre wise. Whatever the hell you want to call it...put on the headphones or crank it the car, this project is full of surprises and is onto something tasty and original.

wowzy wow wow wow wow
mike, its amazing to see the difference between where you and becky were at back in music college, before you guys left, and where you are now, congrats on all of your recordings and cool words and stuff. CHRiS

Hell of a great all out gargantuan Godzilla like stomping thru your city disc!
Here's what you need to know... I personally know how dilligent Mike has been with his music, plus Mike has spent the last couple of years recording his projects, and for the people who get into what he does like I do, the wait has obviously been worth it. As an alla round great guitarist and bass player(and super good music teacher), Mike's soulful rock playing recalls my guitar and bass heros and legends like Lee and Gilmour. The new Temporal Distortions CD is Mike in touch with his sound visions. A number of songs seem to paint a picture of the unknown universe with an unusually deep vibe. In addition to the Zappa and Yes influences, you can no doubt also add in cool traces of Pink Floyd and Queensryche and Mike's eternal idol, Rush. From the totally futuristic Sci-Fi "The Machines Now Get Their Revenge" to the compelling track, “Engineers in the Sun Program the Heart” to the Wait!...I gotta hear that again "For What Was Not" Temporal Distortions will never get old and it really serves up a kenetic and powerful sonic energy beam of raw power.
