Terrance Molloy, lyric spinto tenor, was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 24th, 1932 to Denis and Ann Molloy. Denis was a Dublin haulage contractor and auto dealer. Terrance received his early voice and music training under Brother Murphy in the school choir of St. Theresa, Dublin. He later studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and later in Rome, Italy and London, England.
Terrance has performed in leading tenor roles in many operas in opera houses and concert halls in Europe and the United State. After his debut in America, Charles Perlee, music critic for THE SUN TELEGRAM newspaper described Terrance as having "a voice similar of Jussi Bjorling – with wonderful clear diction and breath control. His audience loved him!"
Terrance came to California from Ireland in 1957, and commenced studies at the University of Redlands, in Redlands, California. At the university he studied under Dr. Walter Martin of German opera fame. Terrance learned his Grand Opera roles on the stage at the University of Redlands Opera Workshop. Terrance has performed in many roles, and can sing in seven languages.
