Tha Striker is an alias for R&B/dance producer Dar E., who hails from the birthplace of house music, Chicago. This producer, remixer, songwriter, multi-percussionist, keyboardist and -- if that's not enough -- CEO of Inner City Groove Records, has been on the underground music scene since Inner City Groove's first release in 1995, the dance/pop maxi-single "More Love" by Giovanni Blue.
After the release of "More Love", the demands of being a working percussionist, playing on live and studio projects ranging from R&B to dance to jazz, temporarily sidetracked Dar from his initial focus of releasing records.
"Eventually," said Dar, "my creative juices began to get the best of me and I decided it was time to get off the bench and back into the game of making records. I could always go back to being a player."
In 1999, Tha Striker produced Giovanni Blue's follow-up, the maxi-single "Get with you", which garnered local radio and club play, and got a lot of love from the steppers.
"In 2002, while working in the studio," said Dar, "I came up with a danceable, funky idea. I was so excited that I let a few friends hear it and they said I should release it." The result was "Shoo B Do". The record did well in Chicago, and took Detroit's underground music scene by storm. Tha Striker iz always in the da studio, cookin up sumthin for da world to groove to, move to, act a fool to, and make luv to!!! Stay Tune!!! Lots of new muzik comin in 2013!! Stay Tune!!!!!
