Album Notes
A Dollar Short is the title track off of the soon-to-be-released ACP album ,"A Day Late." Here is the press release for the CD:

What happens when you take a roomful of the region’s finest veteran musicians, invite some national touring masters, give them some excellent new original material and -- stand back?

“A Day Late,” the third release of the Alan Craig Project, effortlessly brings together seemingly disparate styles of music and an eyebrow-raising list of musicians that you might not expect to hear playing together on the same work.

Years in the making each track explores different musical terrain with an ear to understanding what it’s like to truly enjoy music. Your expedition leader is Alan Craig.

Alan Craig is a musician, songwriter and producer who grew up in Asia and South America and currently lives in the Tampa Bay area where he has quietly performed and recorded with a laundry list of local luminaries. His experiences have provided him unique connections that have made it possible for him to concoct an extraordinary musical brew.

And what players they are: In addition to his core band that includes veteran songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Ross Rice (Human Radio) esteemed guitarist/engineer George Harris (Greg Billings Band, Soupbone and many more), and A-list drummer Dave Reinhardt, the credits on “A Day Late” include guest performances from legendary keysman Garth Hudson (The Band), percussionist Gumbi Ortiz (Al DiMeola), Grammy award-winning bassist Manny Yanes (Nutria, Patti LaBelle, too many to list), Blind Pig recording artist Damon Fowler, and a conga line of regional veterans, each with their own impressive accomplishments.

Throughout the journey, literally everyone who worked on this project had fun and this unusual care and joy shines through in the performances on “A Day Late.”

Alan’s approach to music and recording is unique in that, well, he’s not in a hurry and will wait until everything sounds just right. There was no room for impatience, just excellent music, gorgeously performed.

“A Day Late” will be officially released on March 15, 2013 and will be available at and all your favorite digital music distributors.
