Album Notes
“You don’t know the power of the Dark Side… of George Lucas. It’s too late for me… Son.”

With the rerelease of the movies in 3D, one of our most popular stories is back, but so are some of the most awkward questions that linger on the minds of today’s children, questions like: why does Dad groan when Jar Jar comes onscreen? Why does he leave the room when Greedo shoots first at Han? And why does mom start ranting in the kitchen when Padme dies of a broken heart, right after giving birth to two lovely children?

Yes, it’s Star Wars, revered by kids, and yet source of great misgiving and heartache for parents. But FEAR NOT, The Board of Education is here to help navigate these challenging waters with our brand new single: Why Is Dad So Mad?

Seen through the eyes of a modern day kid, Why is Dad So Mad? puzzles over Dad’s grievances, while also asking, what’s the fuss? Delivered with the BoE’s melodic flair, lyrical wit, and boundless musical palette, this is a song that is sure to help families cross the great Lucas Divide.

So, sit down with your loved ones and spend some time with The Board of Education’s new single. And parents, if this doesn’t help, then in the words of Obi Wan, “you must do what you feel is right.” Or you can all just jump up and dance!

About the Band
The Board of Education brings the adventure, danger, learning and joy of elementary school to life in witty, thrilling pop songs. Fronted by children’s author Kevin Emerson, the BoE has wowed audiences in their hometown of Seattle and across the country with their “advanced placement repertoire” (-The New Yorker, 2010), featuring songs about lonely tomatoes, misunderstood aliens, the dangers of commas, and the joys of tin foil. Their newest album, ‘Binary,’ will be released in April 2012.
