Everyone knows the Clermont Lounge. It has long been a popular Atlanta nightspot, and the subject of an untold number of bar conversations. Celebrities like Robert di Niro, Kevin Kline, Woody Harrelson, and many more are sighted there regularly. The Clermont Lounge has even been on national TV shows such as American Amnesiac and The Layover and has provided the inspiration for songs and documentaries. Well, it's definitely inspired us! We're the Bonaventure Quartet, an acoustic, swing band based in Atlanta, Georgia. Our last CD, The Secret Seduction of the Grand Pompadour got rave local and national reviews. Now we have another great idea-our best idea yet!-a musical set in the iconic Clermont Lounge!
The musical is called Lost and Found at the Clermont Lounge. The script is being written by Lynne Dale and Charles Williams with the music and lyrics by Charles Williams.
The CD is called Songs from Lost and Found at the Clermont Lounge. It's 15 songs, including everything from an overture to love themes to fun songs about 'The Man with the Amazing Hair' and drinking songs like 'The Clermont Lounge'. We started recording last year, and these tracks are awesome. Marla Feeney has done all the arranging and orchestrations, and the rest of our nine- piece Quartet has contributed their finest efforts to make this recording our best yet. We have string quartets, brass choirs, and a full orchestra, as well as our usual acoustic swing group. All of these settings feature the sultry vocal stylings of our very own chanteuse, Amy Pike. So press 'play' and step inside our little romp through the Clermont Lounge!
