The C.R. Ecker Band is happy to wlecome Susie Stevens to the group as featured vocalist for "Heartless," a song penned by Ecker and composer and arranger Tim Horrigan. It was because of Susie that the song reached the finals of the prestigious Music City Song Festival, a national country music competition based in Nashville, in large part because of her strong, emotional intrepretation of a song for women left in the wake of a lover who has strayed.
Susie is a prominent Los Angeles vocal recording artist who has performed with critically acclaimed composers such as John Williams, Randy Newman, Thomas Newman, Danny Elfman, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer to name only a few. As an active member of the Los Angeles recording scene for years, she has also enjoyed recording as character voice talent, bringing a new kind of crossover performance to the industry. Perhaps her best-known work comes from being one of the three vocalists who introduce a certain animated television show to millions each and every week with the undoubtedly most famous three second musical I.D. in music history -- "The Simpsons"
Susie’s talents include backing up world famous solo recording artists such as Phil Collins, Kelly Clarkson, Trisha Yearwood, Michael Jackson, Harry Connick Jr., Amy Grant, Barry Manillow, Barbra Streisand, Vince Gill, Andy Williams, Celine Dion and many more.
Coming from a family of recording artists and musicians, Susie, who has her own compilations on music downloaders such as iTunes, began her extensive career as a child and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance at California State University Northridge.
"Heartless" also marks the first collaborative effort presented to the public by Ecker and Horrigan. During the late 1980s, they were dubbed "the Boardroom Beatles" by the 'Santa Monica Outlook' newspaper for their projects under the "Corporate Harmony" music services banner. And it was because of him that Buck Young, a young singer from Eagle Rock, CA., joined The C.R. Ecker Band as far back as 1987 as lead male vocalist for so many of its songs.
