by The David Mitton Project

The music from this album is instrumental, fresh, and original. Some of the music can be thought as programatic (either I'm trying to define a word through music, or the music was inspired by event). There are elements of swing, odd time, and free music
Genre: Jazz: Soul-Jazz

Album Notes
David Mitton is an alto saxophonist. He has played mostly in the Boston area, with the electra 225 band, or his own group. This project is something he has been wanting to do for some time. No standards or rock tunes, something he can call his own.
Catapult is my attempt to launch my career as a recording artist. Some of the songs are older than others only because over the years my catalog has grown into a collection of material that I feel must be heard and shared with the world. I was lucky enough to have a great rhythm section (Andy McWain - Piano, Michael Lavoie - Bass, and MIchael Ashley - Drums) and for most of the album I was paired up with Bill Jones - Tenor Sax.
