No Twirling

by Bebe Kern & The Dixie Al-Rites

No Twirling: Made-up Stories of the American South is a collection of little movies. Nicely mongrelish tunes--some pretty, some creepy, like Bebe's voice--from a spaghetti western ballad to a strange hymn to joie de vivre. Acoustic, electric, accordiony.
Genre: Folk: Progressive Folk

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
If you like words, you might like these songs. If you'd like to be driving in some tiny old Florida town before it got found and come on a small bar with old dollar bills on the walls and tradespeople drinking and their dogs are with them and there's a cat on the counter by the cash register, and say they have a jukebox with some descendant of Ponce de Leon singing a Loretta Lynn song or vice versa, and also some old mountain hymns, sad folksongs and happy jump blues tunes, then you might like to hear No Twirling.
