Album Notes
Jared, Jacob, and Marti Easter have been surrounded by Bluegrass Gospel music their entire lives. They were born and raised in Mount Airy, NC, and are the
grandchildren of Russell Lee Easter of the legendary Easter Brothers, and children of Russell Easter, Jr. (renowned gospel producer and musician).

Drawing their influence from a multitude of styles and artists alike, The Easter Family has molded together their own unique sound. It is a sound that is recognized as one of the highest standards in bluegrass music, as well as gospel music. When you listen to The Easter Family, you can expect to hear smooth family harmony, top notch playing, and excellent musicianship.

The love of bluegrass gospel music has been instilled and deeply embedded into the heart of this family from the beginning. Nearly 60 years ago, Russell, James, and Edd, The Easter Brothers, wrote their first tunes as gospel musicians. In fact, they were some of the very first to introduce stringed music into the churches.

"There's A Better Life" is a project that has infused some of that great music, written so many years ago, with some new tunes that are original to The Easter Family. The title track "There's A Better Life" tells of the life awaiting us in Heaven, if we only trust and believe in the Lord as our Savior. "He's Just What I Need" is a beautiful song assuring us that the Lord is just what we need to make it through the tough times; while "The Darkest Hour"
describes the most troublesome moments, right before the dawn in our lives.

An old favorite, "Great Speckled Bird", takes us on a stroll down memory lane while showcasing some
beautiful instrumental work, and even features some very special guests. "Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me" is one of the simplest and most beautiful gospel songs ever written. Its melodious tune and praise filled lyrics provide an outlet for everyone to worship the Lord.

The Easter Family would like to thank everyone involved in making this project possible, and all those who helped to pave the way for this beautiful, God-honoring music. Most of all, without the love of Jesus Christ, there would be no song to sing, no praises to shout, and no glory to proclaim. "O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. " Psalms 96, verses 1 & 2.

We would like to dedicate the song "Helping Hand" to our sister Shannon, who went to Heaven at the young age of twenty-three only two weeks after
accepting Jesus Christ into her heart. This song was written in memory of Shannon by our Aunt Linda. The Easter Family ministry was founded after her death as our way of telling everyone we could to let their family and friends know just how much they love them. Spend time with your loved ones and help them in any way that you can, for you never know when you may say "I Love You" for the last time. Our wish is that no family should lose a loved one as we did. But now looking back, we see that due to the testimony of her short life and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, many have been saved and lives have been changed. We miss her, but having the assurance of seeing her again makes Heaven seem even sweeter.
