December 12, 2011 - Indianapolis favorites The Elect will release their latest full-length CD on January 3, 2011, with a release party to be held on January 7 at the Rathskeller. New label Desa Records is behind the release.
Recorded at Winn Studios in Indianapolis and White Arc in Bloomington, IN, produced by Paul Mahern, the new album stays consistent with The Elect’s sound, breaking the traditional mold of today’s Jam/Rock bands by combining the best of multiple genres, including the story-telling of folk, the heart of blues, and the energy of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
With clear influence from The Band, Van Morrison, The Doors, The Allman Brothers, “Minutes In Between” will be a welcome addition to fans of the same, and is a solid continuation of the Elect’s repertoire.
The standout track is the groovy, smooth “Ain’t Givin’ Up On Love”, with its Van Morrison-esque lead vocal and lush, too-good-to-be-corny background vocals.
Solid and experienced musicianship prevails throughout the album, spanning genres and generational appeal with a cohesive and modern sound and unyielding hope in the lyrical messages.
“Minutes In Between” will be available January 3 at local independent record stores and online at iTunes and other music merchants.
