ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In the early days of Motown, along with the development of groups like “Gladys Knight and The Pips”; The “Temptations”; The “Four Tops”; The “Supremes” and the “Spinners”. The “Elgins” were right in the center, gathering under the Motown banner some of their first great hits. These outstanding song, “Heaven Must Have Sent You”, Stay In My Lonely Arms”, “Darling Baby”, “Put Yourself In My Place”, “It’s Been A Long Long Time”, “634-5789”, “Hypnotize” and “Giving Up” were gold plus records for this dynamic group.
The vocal and visual presentation of The “Elgins” is an experience millions have enjoyed the world over. Their repertoire covers the whole musical spectrum from Country, R&B, Pop, Easy Listening and Rock. The “Elgins” appeal is to the general age bracket of infancy to senior adults and they enjoy many requests for return engagements. Over the years The “Elgins” have grown musically in all directions enjoying three performances at the White House and are in demand on the European circuit. Look for great things in the future from The “Elgins’.
Sharyn Ginyard, the main stay of The “Elgins” is an outstanding female lead with few equals. When accompanied by Virgil Ginyard, The founder and original member of The “Elgins”, Guy Isley, Herman Watkins and Kevin Walker providing background harmony and interchanging leads expands the visual performance range of The “Elgins”.

The “Elgins” have evolved beyond the scope of a singing group to become strong dancers and entertainers with a well rounded highly entertaining show.
The “Elgins” remain one of the hottest casino acts in the country.

“So look for The “Elgins” of yesterday, today and tomorrow”
