"...unlike some bands trying to pull off the jangly indie sound theirs is a sound so full and so large it's hard to believe that they pull it off with just three dudes on guitar, bass and drums. " --Chip McCabe (The CT on WTXX)

The Field Recordings are holding up filthy mirrors to everything they write about, trying to find their way in this first Post-Discovery decade. They have been playing shows and releasing their own music since 2008. DG & JT have been playing music together for 11 years.

They are influenced by 70s New Wave (Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, et al), Proto-Punk (The Velvet Underground, The Modern Lovers, et al), and Daily Hand-Wringers, among millions of other favorite bands, sounds, genres, Art Movements, Authors, ETC.

They recorded their debut album, The Elastic Nostalgia, in early 2011. It was recorded at Adorea Recording Studio in Hamden, CT at The Space. It was Produced by Travis Bell and The Field Recordings. It was Engineered and Mixed by Travis Bell. Internship Assistance: Brent Ulrich. It was Mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in August, 2011.

"The band’s current record [is] money well spent for some of the most exciting music coming from our neighbor state to the northeast."
