Album Notes
THE GITS- Frenching the Bully is the first full length studio album put out by The Gits. It was first released in 1992 and followed by months of touring. It was received famously in music press on both sides of the Atlantic and had the music industry buzzing about this "new" Seattle upstart punk band.
This album is raw, intense, angry, tender and passionate.
It has been out of print since 1994 and after a ten year fight with the record label that put it out, The Gits have reclaimed rights to the album and their murdered singer, Mia Zapata's musical legacy. The album has been remixed and re-mastered by producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Therapy?, Mudhoney, Supersuckers, Blue Cheer etc.) and 10 bonus live tracks have been added.
This was the album that started it all. Viva Zapata!

playing it right this moment
I owned this cd before they remastered it, and it was completely worth the purchase. The music sounds fabulous re-mastered and the 9-odd extra tracks were a great way to see how the Gits sounded live. I'm a bit puzzled about the inclusion of Spear & Magic Helmet, seeing as it was originally on Enter: The Conqering Chicken. but whatever, this cd is the way the gits were meant to be heard.

This CD is incredible. Mia's voice is magic.
The songs are intense, sometimes furious, but still melodic. The drums and guitar are so amazing, and Mia had a hypnotic power to her voice that makes me want to hear it over and over. If not for her tragic murder, this band would have been hugely famous. This is a great testament to her memory.

With Love
This CD is a fabulous collection of music that hits you hard with passion and rock as Mia's messages are sung with all her glory. Every song puts me in the mood to fight my fights and turn another page. With love, this CD is it.

No fecking disapointment
Oho! This CD is a great one! I bought it without knowing how the Gits realy sounds, I just heard Second Skin before and I tell you, I will play this CD 'till it breaks! It so nice agressiv!! ArrrGH!! Mias voice are simple the best things that your ears can hear. Do you like grunge- punk- aggresive music with female vocals on top- this is what you searching for!!!!!

Incredibly powerful, raw and honest
This CD showcases punk at its best, while at the same time being very catchy (in the best way possible, the songs just don't leave your head, in my case probably, and hopefully, forever. It's punk, which I love, but is blues-influenced and possesses a soul of its own. One of the most memorable CDs I've ever heard, and the most unjustly underrated CD of all times, in my opinion. The remixed version is simply great!

unbelievable hard, aggressive music but with soul and feeling. mia sounds like janis joplin fronting a punk/rock band. the work on this cd comes from the soul of the musicians and you can hear it with great clarity on this remastered release.

excellent cd, highly recommended.
I own and love all the Gits records, but this one is probably my favorite. The addition of the live tracks is a great bonus, and they are good recordings as well.

fucken good angry music
firstly, this album has some wicked bass and drum solos, and if that doesn't convince you, just hearing mia zapata's raw emotion in the music she sings will give you goose bumps.her lyrics are meaningful, cut my skin it makes me human, nothing like pain to make us all the same, its the truth in the best way.

I like this cd a lot and its a shame that mia was murdured or else im sure they would have sky rocketed and taken off. I really enjoy there music on this cd and i will contiune to listen to it.
