ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
‘Some Other Plan’ is the debut album of Kinsale-based band, The Good Rain.

The Good Rain inhabits the spaces between indie and Americana, post-punk and folk. They have a unique sound that emerges from a combination of acoustic guitar, cello, percussion and bittersweet vocal harmonies. Their genre-hopping style incorporates everything from beautiful and eerie atmospherics to visceral percussive-driven belters. The idea is to try something original with a bunch of portable acoustic instruments.

The members, originally from Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Galway and Hungary, met while studying the Permaculture/Practical Sustainability course at Kinsale College of Further Education in 2008. After four years of writing, rehearsing, gigging and recording they have acquired a loyal following and are now ready to unleash their music to a wider audience. ‘Some Other Plan’ is a DIY self-release as the band is unsigned.

The band are:
Will Flanagan: djembe, cajon, xylophone, percussion, guitar, backing vocals
Klaus Harvey: vocals, guitar, percussion
Vicky McDonagh: vocals, xylophone, percussion
Lea Miklody: cello, backing vocals, percussion
