ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Helping Hands are- J. Lennart Anderson, Lara Beers, and Dwight Carlisle with special help from Kendra Miller, Eliza Plumlee, Ellie Breitmaier and Efrem Peter.

Mmmmm... Bittersweet bites of pop rock perfection! For fans of Eels, Beck, REM, They Might Be Giants, Butterscott, The Flaming Lips, Pink Mountaintops, The Velvet Underground, The Vaselines, That Dog, Karl Blau and more...

Dreamt up by Jason Lennart Anderson, The Helping Hands were created in order to give a voice to the songs inspired by his fondness for people and relationships. Having left both art school and New England by the age of 20 in order to explore America and Europe, Jason would gain a perspective that would later serve him in producing innocent sounding, heartfelt pop music without the sometimes embarrassing earnestness of youth. The songs found on The Helping Hands debut album “Get Helpt!” show this ability in the form of catchy, fun, relatable folk/pop with a lyrically dark edge.

Whether writing about the universal plight of boys and girls, the loneliness of a solo traveler, or the pain of a friend in need, Jason always manages to sound hopeful. Utilizing his talent for both a sunny melody and often-painful subjects, these songs serve a dual nature. They bridge the gap between happy and sad, bitter and sweet, lighthearted and devastating.

“I just think of this as a rock band. It’s all in good fun really, although I do hope that these songs help people feel better, you know? Like good blues music helps people feel better. It’s white boy bubblegum blues music! That’s the point of The Helping Hands. I know they help ME feel better.” –Jason

With the addition of his friend Lara Beers' vocal talent and his wife Eliza Plumlee's affection for children's instruments, The Helping Hands have created an album that you are sure to enjoy.

So remember…WE’RE HERE TO HELP!!!

loving it!
i have listened to this album all week long and i cant get enough of it. the tracks are on point. finally someone has the skills to include a kazoo into a melody and it works perfect. J.Lennart Anderson has created a quality of music that is enjoyable for everyone, with his skills on a guitar to his skills on the mic. i cant wait to go see him perform live. the album art also shows his skill as a photographer!
