ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Although calling the Mechanical Migraines a side project would take away from their years of recording, the experimental duo's newest release is not too unlike the DIIV's side project Beach Fossils: distant, echoing vocals, heavier arrangements, and layer upon layer of tracks. The duo just released their latest collection of music, Tapes, which can be streamed and downloaded here. The title is taken from Walsh's experiences using tape recorded samples in his youth and blending them with vocals to create atmospheric soundscapes. Repeated listens recall a less thunderous Secret Machines, especially on the chant like vocals, and early Animal Collective/Panda Bear."
