Album Notes
This CD is about the pieces that we developed for our performances (over 20 years) at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Music on The Balcony. We began as a Piano Quintet ( Piano, 2 Violins , Viola , Cello) and developed a huge repertoire of music. Our repertoire ranges from JS Bach, Mozart, Hadyn, Beethoven, Brahms and goes forward into the early 20th century with composers Debussy, Faure and Astor Piazzolla. We were honored to perform a piece written for us by American composer Joe Gianono. It is the first of a trilogy of pieces being written for The Orion Music Ensemble by Joe Gianono
