ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE OYSTER MURDERS’ are an alternative, dream-pop band from Australia. Husband and wife duo Grant and Wendy Redgen front the group, vocally playing on their ability to create fragile and moody back and forths, while Adam Buchanan, Shaun Edwards and Chris Macpherson are responsible for the bands overarching sound. The music is punctuated by large pop moments, ambient guitars, analogue synth's and, at times, densely layered instrumentation.

You’ll get a taste of their music trawling through the post-acid Beatles record's and in the back catalogues of Galaxie 500, My Bloody Valentine, early Smashing Pumpkins and the Cocteau Twins.

In 2011 the band released their first single Ghosts In Our Wake in Australia, which spent 4 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the national AMRAP Airit charts. Soon after the band began working with ARIA award winning producer Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Gould (Regurgitator, Midnight Oil) carefully crafting their ambitious long-player Winter of the Electric Sun which has been released in Australia to much critical acclaim and will be launched in the US in October. The band is part of the Australian contingent of artists (The Presets, Kimbra, The Jezabels) invited to play at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC this October.
