ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Swing dance band, The Spicy Pickles, are musical preservations and purveyors of a uniquely American art form. They keep the spirit of PreWar Blues, Jazz and Swing Dance music alive in the new century. Musicians, swing dancers, fans and students of America's musical heritage, The Pickles draw their influence from legends of American Jazz like Count Basie and Louis Armstrong, Slim and Slam and current acts like Two Man Gentleman Band, and Glenn Crytzer.

The Spicy Pickles have only just begun to swing. Forming in early 2013, the group has already recorded their self-titled, 12 track debut CD set to be released on September 24, 2013. The album was recorded and mixed at the Sound Farm Studio Recording Environment in Jamaica, Iowa with engineer Ryan Thomas Martin. This album was mastered at Tone Proper Mastering Studios in Oregon. The group chose to record this particular selection of covers to provide updated renditions for a new generation of dancers in the Lindy Hop and Blues community.
