ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Sweetbryar Band is the culmination of many years of creative alchemy conducted among ancient friendships. Some of these songs first saw light of night at max’s kansas city, many years agone, but there are newer ones in the making as we breathe! Instrumental doin’s are held down by Robin the Hammer, guitar, Barry “Duck” Wiseman, bass and Jason A. Bowman on drums, but the core and spirit of the band is of course, Sweetbryar herself. Painter, calligrapher, songwriter, (and many other things) she is at once mystical and pragmatic, sympathetic yet sarcastic. Onstage she modestly compels all the attention in a room, her songs are shockingly hypnotic and elusively direct.

“Come and groove to Sweetbryar’s incredible songs, with roots in Punk Rock and super hip Greenwich Village Folk and Jazz, this acoustic evening will transport you to a land of dark dreams and bright hopes, inhabited by Gods, demons, Heroes and lovers.”
–Brian Hollander, Woodstock Times
