ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With a lineage dating back to 1995, New England’s The True Phasmatis were soldiers of the underground leading by torch of a now legendary movement that is Black Metal. They saw that their path was indeed interwoven with the stylistic occult, dark, uncompromising lyrics of the late 70s Black Sabbath and Angel Witch, but with impromptu affronters’ of Venom and Bathory‘s musical cohesion. An perfect complement for the die by the sword & sorcery-themed lyrics based on the extremities of the plight of man facing a finite existence. This division in three parts was to manifestly with reference to its destruction create a fierce and desolate void through music. Thus how The True Phasmatis came to be.

Origin of the album took place in 1995 and after years in other bands Cathaoir founder and lead guitarist, went back re-recorded and partialy rewrote the debut album to put forth the encompassing vision in a more mature musical exploitation. Re-affirming The True Phasmatis for new albums comming soon. The True Phasmatis has returned!
