The White Oranges – “two.” was recorded at Winchester Sound Recording Studio in Saginaw, Michigan between December 2012 and March of 2013. It is the band’s sophomore release with IceHausUnderground Records. The album was recorded and mixed with the help of engineer and friend, Phil Thon M.F.A. of IceHausUnderground Productions, and mastered by Andy Reed at Reed Recording Company, Bay City, Michigan. Executive Producer was Jimmie Mead of Winchester Sound. As with their 1st release "Steamboats", the package artwork features the incredible talents of Graphic Artist, Mariah Postlethwaite.
The album takes a more simplistic approach than their debut release “Steamboats are for the Romantic” ( which can also be found on this site), cutting out the previous use of bass on most tracks, showcasing garage-rock influenced riffs by lead-singer/guitar-player, Justin O’Kelly, and a more heavy as well as dance-oriented drumming approach by the band’s prolific drummer, Kyle Roksiewicz. Corey Potchynok was the only other musician featured on the album, providing background vocals on “Philadelphia” and bass on the fourth track, “Steamboats are for the Romantic”. Though he was not a member of the band during the recording process, he has since joined the line-up.
The album will provide the listener with an entertaining listening experience, beginning with a hard hitting intro track (My White Flag) and not losing any steam until the very end.
