Album Notes
The name Thunda 1 was adopted by the two emcees (Trauma & Kalmbat) in order to evoke a way of life for themselves, as well as all those who know what being true to self really means. Thunda 1 centers around the idea that, thunder is not only the sound you hear before the storm, but also the sound that cannot be ignored. The “1” in the title symbolizes the two emcees, skills as a whole, to bring you a complete experience.
As we move towards the future at such a rapid rate, Thunda 1 wholeheartedly embrace the changing society around them and serve it to the people with all the “trimmings” (i.e. fat beats, genuine sound, & creativity). Their music is a conscious depiction of what today’s youth are up against. The duo come at the listener with a sort of “1,2” punch kind of philosophy. Whereas Trauma is the rugged, intellectual, emcee; Kalmbat is the subtle, hit your mental from the back, emcee. On the solo, these two brothers are both powerful entities; combined they are a melodic gem for the massive.

In closing let it be said that when first listening to Thunda 1, you must not, I repeat, must not, compare this group to any you’ve heard before. This is a new group, with a new sound, for a new time. This group not only hold it down on the musical side of things, they also are no strangers to the stage. They’ve performed in a variety of shows, including the East Coast Talent Tournament; as well as community events such as “Sethlow Day” in Brownsville, Brooklyn, put on by Duck Down Entertainment. They have also opened for a number of established and highly recognized artists, such as: Mos Def, Fat Joe, CNN, Smif-n-Wessun, Keke Wyatt, De La Soul, and a number of others. Every now and then a special group comes along to remind the people what real rap music sounds like, and to keep the fact embedded that, this art form exists regardless of what outside forces say. Remember.........Thunda 1 for the Worldwide!!!!! Thunda 1 for the Worldwide!!!!!!
