VOTED ALBUM OF THE YEAR in Motif Magazine's 2009 Music Awards, "Nos Mots" (Our Words) began its life in 2004 as a five song demo entitled "Pas de Deux," at first intended to be called "Vos Mots" (Your Words).
Kari recorded those first pop songs in Paris in July of that year, the music for which was based on poems written by two French friends. Upon her return from France, she also wrote a song, and then added another two, one of which she'd written and translated to French, using a poem by her husband. And so it became OUR WORDS.
Next followed some classical duets for violin and piano, and one of the original songs was reworked using a string trio and French horn, and finally, a very eclectic album indeed was born.
Kari has assembled a team of gifted musicians over the past 10 years, and this just may be her finest effort yet.
