ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tim Green is one of the world's most talented saxophonist, producers, and arrangers. A native of Baltimore, Maryland Tim developed a keen ear for music at a young age. At the age of 13, he was accepted to the Baltimore School for the Arts. While attending high school, he was selected to be one of 25 students, out of 500 that applied, to participate in the Grammy All Star High School Jazz Band. This gave him the opportunity at the age of 16 to travel and perform at the Grammy's in Los Angeles, California. In 1998 Tim was invited to participate in the Vail Colorado Jazz workshop and returned in 2004 as an alumni. While there he studied with John Clayton, Jeff Clayton, Terrell Stafford, Bill Cunliff and Herlin Riley.

He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2004. Tim has submerged himself in music, spending hours studying the styles and techniques of greats like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and others. Tim has been influenced by genres of music such as jazz, gospel, hip-hop, R&B, and classical. In return he uses his instrument as a main source of expressing his life, emotions and truth which speaks to the heart of listeners. He incorporates all these different styles into his current sound.

Tim has played and studied with some of the best musicians in the business. While at the Manhattan School of Music, he studied with world-renowned instructors such as Dick Oatts, Gary Dail, Bob Mintzer and Steve Slagle. In the summer of 2003, he was invited to be apart of the Jazz Aspen Snowmass summer program. There he studied with Christian McBride, Lewis Nash, Benny Green, Wallace Roney and Russell Malone. In the Fall of 2005, he will be apart of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz in Los Angeles, California. He will be studying and performing with jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Terrance Blanchard. Throughout his career, Tim has played with Roy Hargrove, Cyrus Chestnut, Gary Thomas, Gary Bartz,Mo Horns, Dontae Winslow, Wynton Marsalis. He recently performed on the Stella Gospel Awards with Isreal Houghton. He has also performed with Fred Hammond, Joe Pace and Darin Atwater with the Soulful Symphony. In the summer of 2004, he recorded with R&B recording artist Destiny's Child.

While in New York City attending school, Tim has become a successful jazz musician playing at a variety of jazz clubs in the city as well as around the nation. Tim has been playing with his own band that features all original music. He recently performed at the Zanfel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Mercy Soul Quintet.

Tim has recently released his first album titled "Divine Inspiration" which is on the G Major recording label. This album features original music and hymns all inspired by God. It represents all of his influences in music and in life.

From Classical, Jazz, R&B to Hip Hop , Tim continues to go ride this musical and spiritual journey which leads him into Truth . " It's a true blessing to have peoples attention for a certain amount of time and allow them to take a journey into your world through music". " The vibrations of music speaks to the soul as long as you're playing from your soul otherwise you're simply playing in vain".

an amazing debut
Divine Inspiration is an amazing recording debut by Tim Green! The most amazing surprise is that Green digs deep into the roots of jazz music to create an album of inspirational hymns. It was very refreshing and inspiring to hear a jazz musician take this gospel approach on his debut! I cant wait to hear what he does next! Congrats Tim!

To God be the Glory for the great things He has done!
Awesome & Timely are words I would use to describe this CD (God's work). As I play the cd over and over again the music continues to lead me to a sweet place of serenity and it has given me the assurance that can only be found in our God as I allow it to minister to me in my home,in the car and even on the job. Praise GOD!
