ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"God is good all the time"

Allow me to tell you a little about myself. I was born in southeast Missouri in the tiny little town of Qulin. Actually I was born in the country. Mom and dad had fifteen children, and mom had them all at home, not in a hospital.
We were poor but didn't seem to notice because even though we may not have had all we wanted, we had all we needed. We played in the dirt roads and in the woods, and had a blast doing it. Going into town was a real treat even though "town" consisted of only about 300 people.
Most of us kids could either sing, write, or play music. And ALL of us picked cotton in the summer to help pay for school clothes and supplies. Dad did the best he could to keep us all fed, but unlike Jed Clampett he didn't hit some "crude" as he was 'shootin' at some food. In fact, sometimes he missed hitting the food. But we still had plenty to eat. We might not have had a lot of material things, but dad and mom taught us about Jesus, and showed us what was really important in life. I feel I'm very blessed to have had parents like I had. They taught us right from wrong, took us to church, showed us lots of love, and we never went hungry. They also believed God's word where he said if you 'spare the rod you'll spoil the child'. We didn't get much spoiling.
I was singing from the time I was a little girl, in the small pentecostal church we attended. That's also where I met my future husband, Bill Sadler. I married him in 1966 and we have two children, Brian and Paula, and one grandchild, Christina Marie.
God has blessed my life and my music. I never dreamed years ago that one day He would have me singing all over the country as I do, writing songs, and winning dove awards. It is such an honor to serve God in that way.
When I wrote "God is Good all the Time" (which was recorded by the popular Gaither Vocal Band and earned me my first dove award), I can honestly say things weren't going so good for us. We have tests and trials the same as everyone else. But I don't always write from what I see with my eyes.... I write from what I know in my heart and in my heart I know God is faithful.
As a child somehow I got the notion that God was watching me just waiting for me to "mess up" so He could "get me". As I grew up and came to know Him better I realized that yes, He is watching me but it's because He loves me and is protecting me. In thinking on that, God gave me the song that won me the second dove award and was also recorded by the Gaither Vocal Band "He's watching Me".
The "OF THE SPIRIT" project shown on this page will indeed bring blessing into your life and remind you how good and faithful God is. I encourage you to listen to all the sound clips to the album. I wrote all the songs on it and named it "OF THE SPIRIT' because every song on it was birthed from the Holy Spirit of God.
If you like country/southern/bluesy songs with a positive gospel message, then you'll want this CD.
God bless you.

Had the tape upgraded to CD
The tape was well worn so we upgraded to the CD. It is always a part of the music we take on travels. The words to almost all the songs are heavenly.
