The Jordainaires (back for Elvis Presley) and The Dinning Sisters came together for this great inspirational album as though they were always one group. The fantastic gospel work done by these two truly great singinig groups is phenomenal! Rarely do you find such talent. The title song, "Rhinestone Christian" is one of six original Jean Dinning compositions performed on this album.
The Jordainaires gained their greatest notoriety working with Elvis Presley for over fifteen years on his recordings, movies, television and stage performances. In addition to performing with Elvis, the Jordainires have recorded with more major musical stars than any other vocal group in the world and continue to tour worldwide.
As part of a large musical family, the Dinning Sisters begain singing as children. The Dinning Sisters appeared on a number of radio shows, including The Kate Smith Show and Gary Moores' Club Matinee. In 1945, Capitol Records released their first album entitled "The Dinning Sisters." This album instantly rose to the top of the charts, staying there for 18 weeks and producing hit songs such as "Once In A While." During the 1950's, the sisters recorded a series of successful albums with artists such as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Tex Ritter, and Bob Crosby.
