Dave Tofani is at it again with his exciting new jazz quartet! Dave's mastery of the saxophone, clarinet and flute has made him one of New York City's first-call players.
An alumnus of the Juilliard School, Dave has performed and recorded with many of the world's most distinguished musical artists, including Natalie Cole, Quincy Jones, George Benson, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Barbra Streisand and The New York Philharmonic.
Dave has been featured soloist with the Dave Matthews Big Band, Buddy Rich, Bob James, Lee Konitz-Hall Overton Quintet, as well as Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin and Bette Midler. His playing may be heard on hundreds of jazz, classical and movie soundtrack albums. He has been honored numerous times by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences with Most Valuable Player Awards on tenor saxophone.
Dave has recorded two solo albums of his own compositions: the Grammy-Award nominated Manhattan Carnival and An American Garden. Presently he is hard at work writing and recording with his new quartet that features Jesse Green (piano), Evan Gregor (bass), and Ronnie Zito (drums).
This compilation features two original jazz pieces from Dave's CD An American Garden, one original from Dave's first album Manhattan Carnival, and two new compositions from Dave Tofani Quartet: Nights At The Inn CD.
Dave's mastery of tone and nuance on the tenor has been noted by a number of jazz critics: he has received glowing reviews in Downbeat, the All Music Guide, and other publications.
