ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Tomkats Jazz Orchestra has established itself as one of the best jazz bands in Florida over the past 25 years. The band has had weekly house gigs over most of this time. For the last four years playing at the Blue Parrot in St. Pete Beach, Florida and before that for over a decade at the Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island, Florida.
We have had players over the years that were alumni of the Count Basie Band, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Woody Herman Band and many others.

We have visiting musicians from all over the world that sit in with us while vacationing in Florida. Band members frequently write original compositions and arrangements for the band. The new live CD captures the spontaneous drive and improvisational creativity of the Tomkats Jazz Orchestra.

The band can also be seen performing at venues such as the Coliseum Ballroom and the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida and the annual Treasure Island Blues Festival.
