ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“We Are Americans”

I'm an 11th generation American. My ancestors came to the “New World” in 1623. My 10th great grandfather Deacon Samuel Chapin, left Paginton England to flee religious persecution to find a place where he could raise his family in peace and practice his Puritan beliefs. Deacon Samuel Chapin was one of the 3 men who founded Springfield Massachusetts.

My Chapin ancestors were at the REAL Boston Tea Party to protest taxation with out representation, and have fought in every war America has been in to preserve the freedoms Deacon Samuel brought them to this continent for. My Great Grand Father Cooley Sturgis Chapin was an officer in the Union Army and the Chapins were deeply involved in th “Underground Railway” getting liberated slaves to safety in the North. Uncles Bill, Ralph and George were all in the Army at the same time in WW I. My Cousin Irv Smith was a bomber pilot and flew many bombing missions over Europe, coming home safely to retire as a Colonel in the Air Force. His brother Bob Smith was in the Merchant Marine getting troops and supplies to the European theatre. His Brother Kenny Smith was a Tank driver in Korea,

The state our country is in today is very upsetting to me as there is so much contention among Americans I believe we forgot who we really are; The greatest nation on the face of the earth! For that reason I wrote “We Are Americans” to remind us of our incredible heritage and how richly blessed we are to have the “Inalienable rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

All Americans need to stop acting like kids on a playground having a turf war, and thank God for the many blessings we are taking for granted! We need to come together as one people as we did in 1941 when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor. We must never forget that we have a sacred responsibility to preserve what we have been given by our valiant ancestors. “We Are Americans!”

We Are Americans

Words & Music Tom Tomoser

We Are Americans and we are strong
We Are Americans a never ending throng
We keep the peace that's what we do
We are Americans and we are strong oh so strong

Four hundred years ago far across the sea
Many men were yearning to breathe free
Filled with courage they crossed the ocean wide
And found the land of opportunity

Repeat Chorus

In sixteen twenty three God Smiled down from heaven
He was pleased by what this group had done
Cherish justice and fight for liberty
For that is why I gave this land to thee

Repeat Chorus

We havn't had a new patriotic song since Lee Greenwood wrote "God Bless The USA. Hopefully this will get enough attention to make Americans remember all the blessings we enjoy and stop all the petty bickering to once again become the Greatest Nation on earth.
