Tony D. has become a singing sensation and songwriter with an extraordinary range of accomplishments.
Tony D. can surely be called a late bloomer. As a senior citizen his singing career started with a bang writing over 50 songs and still counting. Enjoyment is also brought to him while singing with the Italian song and dance group I Paesani. Venues with I Paesani include Hofstra University, NY, Nottingham Park Industrial Heritage Day, Musikfest, St. Anthony's Easton and Spirit of Bethlehem.

ABOUT THIS CD
1. Introduction message from Tony D.
2. WELCOME TO MY WORLD. Writers: Ray Winkler, John Hathcock. One of my all time favorites. Miracles do Happen! Look at me a singer/songwriter this late in life.
3. FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE. Writers: Orlando Murden, Ron Miller.
I sang this song to my wife Earlene on our wedding day. A very special moment.
4. MY FRIEND, MY LOVER, MY WIFE. Writer: Tony D. *
There are those tiny moments in life where thoughts and words and dreams all go together perfectly. One night, while waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning, I can't remember which, but my wife was beside me and the words came to me quickly. It doesn't happen often, but there was a flurry where I had to rush to find a pen before the words left me. Honestly, I wrote them in only a few minutes and went back to sleep. I don't think I was awake more than 15. And when I woke up in the morning I wasn't sure if I had even done it. But, the paper was there with the words etched, and the song was born.
5. I HAVE A FEELIN. Writer: Tony D. *
This is the first song I wrote. I nervously told my friend, John Chatman, who also happens to be a singer, that I had just written my first song and he asked me to sing it for him on the spot. Right there in the parking lot of Saint Elizabeth's Church in Allentown, PA. I had to get rid of my stage fright before I even realized I had it. John, though, was a huge reason that I got into singing, and a huge reason that I am still sticking with it today. Thanks John
6. WHEN YOUR OLD WEDDING RING WAS NEW. Writers: B. Douglas, C. McCarthy, J. Solieri
Just a nice old standard.
7. MAKIN WHOOPEE. Writers: Walter Donaldson, Gus Kahn.
A great story. Fun to sing. I get a kick out of watching the audience when I sing this song.
8. I PAESANI (THE FRIENDS). Writer: Tony D. *
I know that many people have written songs after the 9-11 tragedy, which is a great gesture, Instead, I have a song I wrote before the event took place, but one that now takes on a whole different meaning when I sing it. I can't help but think of all those lost in New York. I know what fellowship and brotherhood are all about, and this is a song that praises those qualities in life.
I sing with an Italian Song and Dance Company called I Paesani. All the people there have been a great help to me. I started to write this song when I received a call from my good friend actor, director, playwright, Thomas G. Waits who was directing a play in New York called SIX GUMBAS AND A WANNA BE.I told him about this song and he ask me to finish it and send it to him. I was to late with it and it didn't make the play.
9. IT HAPPENED IN NAPOLI. Writer: Tony D. *
When I was in the Navy I served on the U.S.S Rowe and at one point we had docked in Italy. I was only 19 and Italy is Italy, I guess. The land of romance, wine and of course, beautiful women. I fell in love, and still can smile thinking about it, after all, it happened in Napoli.
10. I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN. Writer: Cole Porter
My first experience singing with a big band and not solo. Thanks Dick Hinkle and the Royalairs.
11. ALWAYS ON MY MIND. Writers: Wayne C. Thompson, Mark James, Johnny Christopher.
Willie Nelson is one of my two favorite country singers the other is Kris Kristofferson. This song is beautiful.
12. THE LOTTERY. Writer: Tony D. *
I carried the idea for this song around for many years, somewhere down there in the back of my head, or in my pocket, somewhere I never had the courage to dive into until I finally decided that dreams are never well kept alone. The courage to bring this song to the fore front and to now be able to sing it makes me realize how far I have come by doing the simple act of trying. Dream
13. HONEY BEE. Writer: Tony D. *
This song is in honor of my Aunt Diana. She used to refer to her late husband as her "honey bee." Her being an older lady and using such a childlike, and emotional, term made me realize how love has no age, and how even in her old age she was vibrant, full of love, and as sharp as ever.
14. THE RED EYE SPECIAL. Writer: Tony D. *
I was singing a song entitled "Sentimental Journey" when I began to think of all the times I had traveled myself. It's odd to think of how the inspiration for this song actually came while singing a song makes the whole cyclical process that much more enjoyable.
