A New Revolution Has Begun!
Tony Enos' debut album, "Did It Rite" is a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day. His soulful sound, sensual voice and sexy lyrics reminds me of the days when it is so hot outside that you sit on the porch, throw open all the windows with his record cranked on the home stereo. You’re kicking back with your friends, sipping on a bottle of cola with a straw, trying to stay as cool as possible. Tony provides the funky beats to keep you movin’ and groovin’ while he takes you through a journey of love, sex and all those in betweens without much reservation. And why should he?

A few songs stood out for me, the title track, “Did It Rite” is an in your face on how to do it ‘rite.’ Finding love in the club and hooking up, “How long has it been since somebody did it rite?…I’ll be the one to keep you coming through the night.” ‘Nough said. “Ruff,” well the title says it all. Sometimes we don’t want someone gentle. Throw some swagger in there, get your grunt on and take charge. “Work It Out” has the influence of Janet Jackson, one of his greatest inspirations. He was able to pull her essence and infuse it with his own and came out with a hot dance beat with very few lyrics. He lets the music do what its supposed to - shake your booty. “Did It Right” (not to be confused with ‘Did It Rite’) is a surprising inspirational ballad to all those who have struggled against the odds. You can hear his sorrow of all the negative that came his way but instead of giving into it or giving up, he rose above it and came out stronger than ever.

Mid-tempo “Delicious” talks to that fella across the room, don’t let the exterior fool you because I’m better than what you see, “I be delicious, try me.” On the softer side of Tony, he gives you “It Feels Like.” An ode to desire, lust and sexual energy. Letting that lucky guy know what he’s about to get himself into with Mr. Enos. It’s feathery and light and takes you exactly where he wants you to go – into the bedroom. “Good Love (grilled ham and cheese)” takes it one step further – clothes on the floor, bodies in the bed and baby making in the room.

Tony Enos is no amateur in this game. He knows where he wants his listeners to go and he succeeds on taking you there. He’s paid attention to his influences and instead of carbon copying them as so many other artists have (without much success), Tony blazes his own path without apology. “Did It Rite” speaks on behalf of all men out there that we too like to feel and be sexy just as much as our female counterparts. Tony gives you ear candy galore with this album and that comes from being comfortable in his own skin.
