ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Live Insanity was recorded at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood, California in 1997, and this concert CD is a showcase for Tony McAlpine's abilities on both guitar and keyboards. Nine all-instrumental tracks featuring Mike Terrana on drums and Ricky Riccardo on bass. If you enjoy huge, entended guitar solos, good melodies and a rock-solid rhythm section - as well as different elements of metal, shred, rock, jazz and neo-classical - Live Insanity will be right up your alley. The crowd noise is kept to an absolute minimum, so almost the entire focus is on the musicianship and interplay - and the incredible guitar! Not a hi-fi recording by any means, just a great example of what Macalpine can do in front of an audience.

Tony Macalpine – ”LIVE Insanity” it is!
Most people know Tony MacAlpine from his work together with other musicians, like Steve Vai, Planet X, G3, Vinnie Moore, and Joey Tafolla and so on…
Not all are aware of his solo projects. He has a number of solo CD’s out there under the name Tony MacAlpine, about 11 CD’s if I’m not wrong. (Check out his website). “LIVE Insanity” fits well into that catalogue. Mr. MacAlpine is a God, both on keyboards and guitar. This CD is absolutely worth buying, and shows his abilities on both guitar and keyboards. It’s recorded at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood, California in 1997. The sound is great, the music is great, and so are the solos. Here are elements of metal, shred, rock, jazz and neo-classical music, so if you’re into this style of music, this CD is highly recommended!
5 Stars! Please remember to check out Tony MacAlpine’s other work, both his solo projects and his work together with other musicians. I think this CD is awesome!
