ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia Top Notch spent most of his childhood playing sports in his neighborhood and at local recreational centers in the area. (Gresham Park) It was at a family reunion in 1988 when Top Notch’s family discovered that he wasn’t camera shy or didn’t have stage fright. He connected with his audience like no other kid MC had ever done. His mother credits his stage presence from his starring roles in numerous school functions. At a six grade talent show where Top Notch and a group of his friends had to perform a song is when his star qualities started to shine. By the time his ninth grade year had rolled around Top Notch had been introduced to some local Atlanta native rappers. After checking out the styles of those artists that is when he decided that the music industry was for him. Top Notch had written almost one hundred verses with different styles before he found the one that he was looking for. The style that he found was just really being himself .Top Notch would listen to a fellow Georgia native’s lyrics by the name of Pastor Troy and freestyle to the beats of the well known rapper. His classmates would gather around to hear him bust a flow and freestyle about everyday life. They would cheer him on until he ripped the last line. Several years past and Top Notch had been on mix tapes, independent collaborations and a host of other music projects. After graduating High School Top Notch reunited with an old associate of his and they formed a group by the name of Southern Hardheads. While in the group Top Notch really got a chance to show off talent. He was named one of the hottest two members out of a four man group by many people. Many independent labels wanted Top Notch to join their team as a solo artist but at the time he chose to be a team player. The group showed the Atlanta artist that it is a lot of hard work in the music business. While with the Southern Hardheads Top Notch got the experience of doing shows, performing various venues, and just learning the game. Adding Top Notch to the music industry is going to be real special. Whatever label decides to sign the Atlanta rap artist will be glad that there new edition is very much so Top Notch
